Exoticare BioSpheres are made of 100% clay.  It is a perfect solution for drainage in bioactive setups.  Expanded clay is a unique, lightweight aggregate. It is mined, formed into pellets, then kiln fired at high temperatures to cause the clay to expand into tough, lightweight balls.  Our BioSpheres naturally have balanced capillary action, with an ideal surface structure. It is semi-porous and generally does not Float like other products can.
For best results, rinse all expanded clay before use. It is reusable as long as it is thoroughly cleaned between uses.  Our BioSpheres come in a 11 x 5 x 14 resealable bag, with a self-standing base, for ease of use and storage.
