PittMoss® is a new product that helps conserve our planet’s peatlands. PittMoss® can be added to growing mixes therefore reducing the amount of peat moss needed as peat moss is a primary ingredient in many traditional mixes. Adding PittMoss® to a growing mix increases water retention and allows even water absorption. It also eliminates water and fertilizer run off and is clean and free of foreign objects. We use PittMoss® here at Josh’s Frogs on our plants to help with water retention. PittMoss® is made from recycled paper products that would normally end up in a landfill and has a near neutral pH.

• Add to growing substrates to help retain water
• Reduces amount of peat moss needed in growing substrates
• Contains no foreign objects unlike sphagnum peat moss
• Can be used at a 50% replacement rate for peat in growing substrates
